Kate & David have been at the Shoulder of Mutton since 2004 and have built an enviable reputation for their fabulous food and warm hospitality. They regularly welcome new guests and returning friends who come to enjoy the inn’s relaxed atmosphere and, of course, the excellent food.

Built in the 1800s, The Shoulder of Mutton is a spacious yet intimate country pub offering excellent standards in cuisine and service where the welcome is as hearty as the food served. Guests find that The Shoulder of Mutton team is about the friendliest you’ll find anywhere and that the pub is a real hidden gem that simply demands to be visited time and again.

Kate & David invite you to visit the Shoulder to soak up the atmosphere of a traditional village pub, relax with a pint and enjoy a leisurely lunch or evening meal – the pub has something for every occasion; from celebratory family lunches to cosy dinners for two and a friendly local pub serving superb real ales.

The pub can be found in Kirkby Overblow, a wonderful example of a peaceful English village situated between Leeds and Harrogate in North Yorkshire. Kirkby Overblow features stunning views over the Vale of York and the Wharfe Valley and a thriving local community, at the heart of which you will find The Shoulder of Mutton.
